Okay, I admit it. I have dry skin. Buying oils and lotion seem like such a waste of money and yet I know it's a necessary evil. But, today was a happy day because I decided to run an experiment and make my own after-shower body oil. Huzzah!
Meet the ingredients.
Meet the ingredients.
3 T Olive Oil
1 tsp Pure Aloe Vera Gel (optional)
2 pellets of busted up old bronzing powder
5 drops essential oil: grapefruit & spearmint
It's so easy. Combine everything in a small pump bottle and you're done! I'm so excited to share this frugal creation with you — it works like a charm.
I like the addition of the bronzing powder because it gives my skin an extra glow after the shower. I used a chopstick to break up the powder in my pump bottle. Then I shook the whole thing like a madwoman and this is the end result.

There you have it. A quick way to make your own body oil using stuff you probably already have in your bathroom/kitchen. By the way, you can use any combination of essential oils, or leave them out for a more natural aroma.
